CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) is a 20-hour FEMA
course that trains volunteers on how to respond safely, responsibly, and
effectively in the event of a disaster. Following a major disaster, police, fire and medical personnel may not be able to fully meet the demand. People will have to rely on each other to meet immediate life saving and life sustaining
needs. This is where CERT volunteers come in.
