Join us at the Hermosa Beach Museum from 6-8pm Thursday, August 28, for a riveting retrospective on skateboarding in film featuring clips and conversation with local expert and recent inductee to the Smithsonian Gerard Ravel. An early innovator of skateboarding film, Ravel began Native Sons International (NSI) Video in the early 1980s to distribute the videos he took across the country. His collection, including “On the Prowl” and “Duel at Diablo,” now brings punk and skateboarding history to the Smithsonian. At this Happy Hour with History, Gerard Ravel will join us in conversation with board member and local historian Mark Shoemaker and local former professional skateboarder and Smithsonian inductee Cindy Whitehead. RSVP here to join us for classic skateboarding clips and conversation with Gerard Ravel!
